Underwood Champion

From a local collector, this machine is interesting in that it is a Canadian-produced machine, made for an Australian department store, but which has since been modified back into a set slugs with a US currency. This means that the dollar sign is actually present on the machine, however it’s above the 5 instead of the 4 and was modified to that position by cutting another slug in half and soldering a half-slug onto the bar! Despite that seemingly cobbled-together alteration, this machine is in fantastic shape and types very smoothly, particularly now that it has new feet.
